They say being dense is cool, being transparent is frail.
“I would not trade my thin glass for a fractal of ice,
Neither its clarity for the other’s density.
Define it as frail, stubborn, simple, vulnerable–
I would accept them,
Rather than descriptions such as
Cold, fickle, complex, gullible.
Let the thin glass and ice be as they are,
And let the earth be shaken,
Let the heavens strike lightning,
At the end, see their fall,
Witness their brokenness.
And guess who remains
Unchanged even in pieces?
Steadfast even in separation?
Constant even scattered?
